It started with a road trip. Collin and Shirley London created the van and toured it around Australia for a year — then, in their own words, "traded the open road for this sunny corner, and haven't stopped frying since." That corner was Queen Street, Berry, and the van never left.
Today the queue is the legend: lines down the street at any hour, a ticket in your hand, your number called over the speaker, and a bag of donuts still warm from the fryer. On the busiest days a second truck fires up behind the first just to keep up. The van itself has grown into a kiosk with a garden to sit in — but the ritual hasn't changed in half a century.
