"The queues of people tell you this bakery is 'not to miss'. … The range of food here is simply incredible. I can vouch for the cranberry and white chocolate cookies, very, very nice… The chicken salad roll was very nice and my husband said the honey pork pie was delicious…"
A Queensland institution since 1910
Doing a roaring trade in prize-winning pies since 1910, Blackbutt Bakery is a Queensland institution — the kind of country bakery that national TV and radio listeners have consistently crowned among the best in the state.
You'll find us on Coulson Street, right on the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail in the town known as the Gateway to the South Burnett. After a big ride, there's only one thing better than coffee — and that's coffee with something from this cabinet. Riders, road-trippers and locals all end up in the same queue.
"When national TV and radio station listeners have consistently crowned this bakery's pies the best in Queensland, you know you're in for a treat." — Queensland Country Tourism
In July 2026 the bakery closed its doors for two days of upgrades and reopened with brand-new, lower-profile display cabinets — with a new accessibility ramp, extended outdoor seating and an express bread window on the way. The bakery is also a proud Silver Sponsor of the 2026 Blackbutt Avocado Festival.
